Important: Outlook app on desktop (Mac or PC) does not support subscribing to new calendars. You will need to go to or to subscribe to a calendar. Once you’ve setup the calendar via the web site, it will appear on Outlook for Mac.

To add / subscribe to a calendar on Stanza, you’ll need a cloud-based mailbox (e.g. Outlook.com, Microsoft 365 hosted mail, Exchange Server, etc.) which supports calendar subscriptions.

On the web

  1. Open your browser to view your mailbox from there (not native Outlook for Mac or PC app). For example, or

  2. On the left nav bar, choose the Calendar icon (second from the top) then scroll down to “Add Calendar”.

  3. Choose "Subscribe from web" and paste the from Stanza.

Learn how to get your from Stanza to import into your calendar app.

  1. A few little details to add:

    1. Calendar Name – make it short, to fit in the left-side calendar pane

    2. Color – each calendar is color-coded

    3. Charm – Microsoft’s name for an icon, which appears beside each calendar item

    4. Calendar – which section to organize the calendar under. For example: “My Calendars”, “Other Calendars” etc.

The name, color, charm (icon) and calendar type can all be changed later.

  1. Click Insert then wait a moment. The new calendar will appear in the left-side calendar pane, at the bottom.

Outlook App

Now that the calendar subscription is setup online, open the native Outlook app (iOS, Mac, PC, etc.).

  1. Let it sync with the online account.

  2. Check out the Calendar view.

  3. The calendar you subscribed to should appear in the sidebar. You can toggle it on or off to see the upcoming events in your Outlook calendar.

How frequently will my calendar subscription update?

According to Microsoft, calendar subscription updates can take over 24 hours but typically occur approximately every 3 hours.

If a subscribed calendar hasn’t updated in the Outlook app, try logging into the website, as this may trigger an update.

Outlook rejects some calendar subscriptions but not others. How do I resolve this?

There are known bugs with Outlook since the latest update where calendar files are incorrectly rejected.

How do I force refresh a calendar in my Outlook Calendar app on Mobile (Windows and Mac)?
  1. Open Outlook Launch the Outlook app on your computer.

  1. Go to the Calendar View

    1. In the bottom-left corner, click on the Calendar icon.

    2. This will take you to the Calendar section.

  1. Manual Refresh on Windows:

    1. Navigate to the top toolbar and click on the Send/Receive tab.

    2. Click Send/Receive All Folders.

    3. This action will refresh all mailboxes and calendars.

  1. Manual Refresh on Mac:

    1. Go to the Organize tab in the top menu.

    2. Click the circular Refresh button (⟳).

    3. Alternatively, press Command + R to manually refresh the calendar.

  1. Check Calendar Sync Status

    1. Ensure your internet connection is active.

    2. If a calendar still isn’t syncing, right-click on the calendar under My Calendars in the sidebar and select Sync This Calendar (Windows only).

This is mainly impacting NCAA calendars. A workaround here to add these calendars to a and subscribe to the group instead.
